Watch out for Cheap Chinese Fake Honda Clone Engines and Cheap Fire Hose when selecting a Pool Fire Pump Wildfire Defense System

Let's face it, when it comes to home firefighting, you want to ensure you select a home fire pump and hose system that's going to start when you need it.

We'll start by talking about the Fire Pump itself. There's a lot of cheap, fake Honda Clone Engines for sale on Ebay and Amazon that you want to stay away from. They look exactly like a red Honda GX 200, but if you look closely it'll have some non Honda Stickers on it such as "6.5HP." These engines are cloned in China and are guaranteed to let you down at some point since the quality is nowhere near a real Honda GX200 engine, for example. It may work for a handful of starts, but that's not what you want when you need to rely on it in a wildfire emergency. Our advice is to stay away from these Honda Clone Engines period. An engine is not something you want to replace on a fire pump once a year.

Next, let's talk about another critical component in a home firefighting system which is the Fire Hose itself. Again, there is a lot of cheap, Chinese made fire hose out there on Amazon that you also want to stay away from. This cheap, lightweight hose will only last a couple of uses. Again, not ideal for home firefighting. You want a single jacket fire hose that is service tested to 250 PSI, NFPA 1962 certified, UL Listed, and Made in the U.S.A. Real good single jacket fire hose has some weight to it and will last you many years under heavy service.
